Makenzi Rasmussen, MSW, APSW
Makenzi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication and her Master’s degree in Social Work, with a focus in mental health, from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Makenzi has experience working in outpatient, day treatment, and in-home community-based settings. She provides individual therapy for youth and adults, as well as family therapy services. She has extensive experience within Comprehensive Community Services (CCS), including service facilitation and array services, and is highly familiar with community resources throughout Dane County. In her work, she supports clients in navigating systems of care while collaborating toward their self-identified goals.
Makenzi integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, mindfulness practices, and cultural humility into her clinical work. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their identity, purpose, and direction in life. Her approach is collaborative and strengths-based, emphasizing partnership, respect, and individualized care. Makenzi meets clients where they are, tailoring goals and strategies to their unique experiences and needs. She values authentic connection and believes in the healing power of each person’s story.
Outside of her professional role, Makenzi enjoys reading, crocheting, going for walks, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
